Buy Parrot ANAFI: The Parrot ANAFI is a 4K drone with many great features. It is light weight fun to fly and has a camera that tilts 180 …

  1. YAW – Since a quad copter doesn't have to fly in line with it's longitudinal axis, it can YAW the body of the drone and still fly forward. I don't understand the fuss about yaw.

  2. I think this is sort of a dumber spark with better flight time and a 4k 180 degree camera. I don't think the 4k looks any better than spark footage and DJI is just better in almost every way. More features, more experience, higher quality, better technology, better app, and the spark is $200 cheaper for the fly more combo. Sure the 180 degree gimbal could be used creatively, but I don't think it's worth it. If you need that option, you probably also need a professional grade drone.

  3. You say they're "technically rotors". but I checked dictionary.com and the online Merriam Webster dictionary and neither specify the orientation or position. Here is Webster's definition:
    Definition of propeller

    : one that propels

especially : a device that consists of a central hub with radiating blades placed and twisted so that each forms part of a helical surface and that is used to propel a vehicle (such as a ship or airplane)

  4. THANKS for this review!
The TWO main reasons my opinion is with the Anafi and not with the Mavic Air (or any DJI semi pro product) are
    1. The Anafi can fly into the wind/go fast and look up without any sort of propeller impingement onto the recorded camera image;
    2. It does not have the draconian (and very unreliable) "no fly" fencing in the DJI models. I would venture a guess that a good many airspace authorized DJI owners are sick of that often unwelcome and time consuming overlord authority, in spite of their wonderful great flying machines.

  5. I enjoy your comments and videos and find them most informative bit you made one mistake an important one at that. The anafi sells for 599 all over the US and not 700. So it is priced right. I will be purchasing one sometime this month. Best buy has the drone and so does Amazon. One point that you didn't mention is that as with all parrot products they can be taken apart and reassembled with only a screwdriver. All motors plug in motherboard fan antennaslig on armslug in — no soldering involved. Thru are made for the consumer to reassemble and parts can be purchased from parrot. Now to be honest I fly the mavic air and there really is no comparison but for 599 it is a fair deal. Love your videos and conclusions. Keep the great job!!

  6. In my opinion most of the cons are minor in nature versus the major pros of the Anafi. Those pros are the Anafi is very quiet (just about unnoticed once you're 25 feet away), 180 camera angle, no corporately imposed no fly zones, no spoiled shots because propellers got in the way, very easy flight application and at this point (I've had the Anafi since January) no updates which I hear is a constant complaint with DJI products. The price at this time is $599 so in the range mentioned in the review as a competitive price point.

  7. I’m pretty new to sUAVS and still researching the $400 to $600 range. I have been leaning towards getting a DJI Phantom 3 Advanced but the Parrot Anafi also has a great video quality but what I really like is the 90 degree up/down which would be great for inspecting under bridges and other structures.

  8. lol … your Fan boy is showing !!! Parrot doesnt try to play daddy with YOUR drone. you have 100% true freedom with YOUR purchase. Which means YOU actually OWN your drone when you buy parrot !!! that alone is the prime selling point. all it takes is you being in the wrong part of town … and when magic hour hits and its beautiful …. your DJI says NOPE. we cant fly here bob. But all i want to do is get up 100 ft and shoot the sky …. dji says …. Still NO. If you dont like the way I run your life … go buy another drone. And so far this is what I see happening. little to no used Anifi on ebay or craigs lists. this means people are getting sick of DJI and their NAZI control !!! FU#K DJI !

  9. Anafi is our choice of drone for roof inspections, soffits, and so on. Great camera, zoom is outstandingly good. Nice that you can do that, put it on screen and show clients what is going on. Best for inspecting chimneys. mortar cracks, and other things. We used DJI drones for this prior, but Anafi is so quiet and so good at what it does, we leave the DJI gear in the truck. For real estate, this drone is outstanding for indoor. Very stable, nice flight, and again if a room has vaulted ceilings and you want to get that dolly view, this $600 or so drone has it all in spades.

  10. Best Buy has them for $599. The things that pushed my to the Anafi were it's similar features to the Mavic and (this is a big one) the DJI no fly zones. That feature, even with the ability to get them unlocked by contacting DJI on an as needed basis really killed it for me given the number of airspace restrictions in the northeast U.S. I have a part 107 license and for the most part can get a waiver from the FAA via LAANC almost immediately (which I would always do if I'm going to fly in controlled airspace). One big brother is enough for me.

  11. I have one of these and the drone itself is not bad except the lens is too wide angle for my taste and the range and jittery video transmission needs work. I didn't get anywhere close to 2.5 miles and not even one mile. BUT! they asked me for a review in exchange for a 10% discount which I used for a second battery. They then sent me a link to see my review except it wasn't there. I called and the gal/recording at the start of the call was so unintelligible that I chose a keypad number just to get to someone. The person I got was a jerk. He told me that the review was for Parrot's view only despite the email I told him I got saying to look at and see what others will be seeing about the Anafi. He insisted that I wouldn't see it regardless in an attitude that was pretty sucky. When you get put on hold it's pretty awful dissonant music. Also when I ordered that battery they sent me a tracking number that went to UPS and it wasn't a match for a shipment. I checked back with the same result. When I called CS then they said it was shipped FedEx and they gave me a new tracking number. So after all is said and done they send you an email saying the case is resolved even if it isn't and you have 7 days and then it's dropped. I like this drone because it's straight forward simple to fly and the photo capability is pretty satisfactory. But if you ever need CS be forewarned they might not be very accommodating.

  12. I got mine for only 399 pounds so around the same price as a spark with controller. Its an awesome little drone for the price and no messing around with losing connection like I had with the spark. DJI products really don't like Android.

  13. 3 axis gimbal would be useless.

There are two pieces of plastic on each side of the camera. Last I checked, even the best hd cameras can't see through opaque objects.

  14. I got this drone for Christmas and it is amazing. Easy and efficient in every condition. I would recommend it 100%. Of course it isn’t perfect but this is definitely close to it!

  15. Great review from you, as usual, This ANAFI is certainly raising my eyebrows, mainly for the fact that the gimble can go straight up and down and not show the props. Could allow some very creative shots. The other big pluses for me is the extended battery time, the decent looking footage, and that digital zoom. I have digital zoom on my regular hand held video cameras but the ANAFI's digital zoom looks a lot cleaner than mine. I'm very impressed with what I'm seeing here. It doesn't seem to have that "fakey" kind of look like my handheld video cameras have. I'm gonna give this some serious thought. Marc
