This little hexacopter includes a gravity sensor to let you fly it like a Wii. Nice stable flier, perfect for learning to fly with. Also includes autoflipping in expert mode …

  1. I've one of these things… I think I'm doing something wrong. Is there a way to calibrate the throttle input? Full throttle barely lifts it, it just bounces on the ground effect. In addition, you have to set the trim to a crazy level to get it to stop flying quickly to the left/rear while turning left.

  2. Hey buddy. I have an Mjx600 with c4005. just learning lots of fun. However the c4005 video footage once off the ground is extremely blurry. its wifi so occasional lag and signal loss but its the blurryness that is crap. whats the point of having an on board camera if the footage is not usable. is there anything that can be done to improve. I've cleaned the lens and its nothing to do with flying interference. when its on the ground the video image is perfectly in focus (Looks HD quality) When it leaves the ground just rubbish, all blurry at all heights pasr 1m off ground. please help.

  3. Very detailed review there about this Mjx x800 quadcopter. But then I've been wondering since it says that it had 'one key return to home'… Or at least that's what it says, so does that functions accurately?

  4. I like your quad and hexacopter reviews, but I think the MX800 is a terrible 'beginner' copter.

    1. The transmitter sticks are so short that they're far too sensitive for beginners. I had to extend the sticks about an inch longer in order for my girlfriend to be able to fly it at all. Longer sticks are less sensitive than short sticks.

    2. Even on low rate speed, the copter climbs so fast that beginners get way too high way too fast. The pilots then panic trying to work their way back down safely. This is especially panicky if trees are around.

    3. Compared to round hexacopters with eight motors, a quadcopter with only four motors in a square pattern is much easier for beginners to recognize which direction is forwards (just try to figure out which direction a circle is pointed).

    4. The MX800 is not really all that stable… especially compared to larger copters.. and even small ground strikes mess up the gyro's and they have to be reset or else the copter will not track properly. And by the way… the lousy instruction manual doesn't explain how to reset the gryos.

If you have a MX800, you can reset the gyros by setting the copter on a level surface. Then move both transmitter sticks to the bottom right corner. The copter lights will flash for a few seconds. When the lights stop flashing, the gyros have been reset. The copter will then hover smoothly again.

    5. The landing gear is so springy that bounces easily cause the copter to flip upside down risking damage to the props.

    6. The copter is just too small for beginners easily figure out which direction is forward — especially when the copter gets a little ways out from the pilot.

On the plus side, I like the direct drive propellers with no gears to strip or slip. The copter also seems to be really rugged and has held up well through many crashes. My girlfriend's copter even landed in a swimming pool and after it was dried out with a blow dryer, it still works perfectly.

  7. Hi, thanks for all your reviews, they have been very informative. I wondered if you have considered doing a payload test on this or any other quad or hex? I have a 600 and am delighted with it but the camera on it is less delightful and I would like to replace it with a Mobius or SJ4000 or even an HDR carcam but I am afraid I might burn the motors if I fit one and try to fly it. I don't even know if the 600 is capable of carrying a payload. Any advice or suggestions on suitable cameras that might suit the 600 would be appreciated although I should point out I am not in the GoPro price bracket. I would also be interested in any views on whether the 600 would be better if used with Quanum FPV goggles as the mobile phone (cellphone) idea is poor, especially in sunny weather

  8. Great review Quadcopter 101!  We were thinking about reviewing one of these on our channel but are trying to get a few facts straight before we buy it.  At the beginning you mentioned it has headless mode but then at the end you said it didn't. Do you know which it is?  Keep doing what you're doing, seems to be working really well!
